The U.S. established the Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code, a code assigned to organizations (manufacturers, distributors, organizations, etc.) to facilitate the supply chain.
The NATO Codification System (NCS) was established in 1958. In order to differentiate between the U.S. and NATO systems, CAGE was referred to as NATO COMMERCIAL AND GOVERNMENT ENTITY
(NCAGE) CODE in the NCS community. When a business/organization is assigned a CAGE/NCAGE, they are in fact the same type/structure of code but identifies which nation or if NATO Support Agency
(NSPA) assigned the CAGE/NCAGE.
In India, the Directorate of Standardisation functioning under Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, also functions as National Codification Bureau of India (NCBI) who is responsible for ensuring the codification of all existing and future items/equipment in Indian Defence Inventory by generating NSN and allocation of unique manufacturer's code (NCAGE/SCAGE) number to manufacturers under NATO Codification System.
NCAGE Code - 3075Y allotted for SMPP Private Limited. This makes it easier for SMPP to do business both with the US and also NATO countries.
